I am an Associate Professor at the University of Mary Washington where I teach courses in Digital Studies, which I think of as the intersections and overlaps between digital creativity, digital culture, and digital methodologies. Specifically, I’ve taught courses in electronic literature, video games and culture, graphic novels, transmedia fiction, writing for digital media, and creative coding. I’ve published research on those topics, and I’ve I co-edited Disability in Comic Books and Graphic Narratives (2016) with Chris Foss and Jonathan W. Gray, and I co-edited Playing the Past: History and Nostalgia in Video Games (2008) with Laurie N. Taylor.

I live in Fredericksburg, VA with my wife Stacy and our four very interesting and accomplished children.
